Which Jazzmaster do you have? Most models have stock pots that are 1000kΩ (1 MΩ. Many of the MIJ models have cheap, small spots. Swap the pots with 500k log volume pot and 500k linear tone pot. Also, swap the tone cap with a 0.033 µF Sprague Vitamin Q or Hovland. That would be an inexpensive but effective improvement.

Also, the bridge (a Gotoh) is for a 12" radius neck but the Blacktop Jazzmaster neck is 9.25". Decided to keep it in anyway although I may pick up a Compton Compensated bar bridge down the road. The neck fit perfectly in the guitar's body.

Of course, it isn't that classic player Jazzmaster, it is a Fender Blacktop, which basically means it is a 'hotter' or 'more meant for overdrive'. The Blacktop series was made not to stay, but to keep new products out there for Fender to experiment with. It was also a series to appeal to those looking to use more dirt and such while playing.
