Don't get me wrong, Keene is an excellent dredge, but for my money, their tripple sluice is an over engineered money pit. The single or over-under type dredge sluices, to me, are superior. Just my 2cents. Dahlke is another manf. but I'm not that familiar with them. I have heard a lot of good things, but I haven't seen one in action.

I have a Keene 4 Ultra mini, the difference between that and the standard 4 is Floatation and sluice box. The standard has 4 pontoons the mini 2. The sluice on the standard is a 3 stage sluice, (has under & over riffles ) and is much longer, that is why extra floatation required. The mini has a shorter sluice that is not 3 stage.

The KEENE 3" JET FLARE design provides excellent fine gold recovery. The jet flare and water level sluice box gives 30% more suction allowing dredge depths of nearly 30 feet. Also, the state-of-the-art sluice box is more efficient, compact, and lighter. The 3" dredges are powered by P180 GPM pump with a Honda GX200 engine.

I sure love gold dredging, even though I don't get to do it much anymore. Keene makes a nice 2-inch backpacker unit. The 2-inch don't move tons of material, but if you're working shallow areas that have gold it can be worthwhile. My overall favorite dredge was a 2.5-inch Gold King DPC unit.

I used to own the standard, big Keene 4 inch dredge with 4 pontoons and big 48 inch triple stage sluice box. Sold it when I moved from Georgia to Colorado. Now have a Keene 4 inch Ultra Mini dredge with air.....smaller, easier for 1 man to operate, move. Trouble is the sluice box is designed for big gold, is only 40 inches long and single stage.
